Summary:

We are proud to have developed a successful access system, suitable for masonry arch viaducts, over the past several years. The access system enables us to undertake intricate repairs to the underside of the masonry arch barrels without the use of MEWPS or scaffold, which are not always suitable depending on the location of the structure.

We use an access cradle that is suspended from a Form C-designed anchor system fixed into the structure below the string course. The cradle is suspended from the main anchor system using fully certified man riding winches, enabling our rope access technicians to manoeuvre the cradle up and around the inside of the arch barrels to undertake the necessary repairs. This system can be fully installed and dismantled by our highly skilled and experienced personnel without the need to access the railway track.

Even with complex projects, such as this one at Ballochmyle viaduct, our system means our clients can have certainty in programming and budgeting.
